Never Satisfied

We are usually never satisfied. When it is hot out we want it to be cold, and then when it is cold out we want it to be warm again. I often times have said this "I love the snow, but I wish it could be warm and be snowing."We seem to be constantly complaining about the things around us because not everything is going our way, but we should not be complaining because every season is needed. If you look you can always find beauty in the seasons. The spring brings the beautiful flowers and all of the fresh smells. The summer brings the warm sunny days where you can lay out in the sun. The fall brings the changing of the leaves looking around at all of the beautiful colors as you drive around. The winter brings the beautiful snow, although it can be a nuisance it is still beautiful. I love looking out and seeing everything covered in a blanket of snow. Without snow there would be no snowball fights which is always a fun time.

Summer Camp

I love summer camp. I still remember the first time I went to a summer camp with a friend from school who invited me to go with her. The summer was such a great fun time that I continued to go to that camp for two more years even though she had moved and I was going without knowing if I would know anyone there. It was a great place to meet new people and form new friends. I went to a different camp in '04 and '05 with my youth group. This was Word of Life. My brothers both worked at that camp so I decided that I would like to work there too because they seemed to really enjoy it. I ended up working there in '06, '07, and '08 all three summers I worked in the kitchen. These summers are ones that I will always remember. I grew so much and was able to meet new people I would of never had the opportunity to meet if we had not worked there. For that I was able to create great and close friendships with some really great people.

Work

I am a cashier at a grocery store not far from my house. I have been working there since august of 2009. This is not my favorite job that I've done but it has given me good opportunities to witness to my co-workers. One day when I was working a co-worker asked me if I was on some type of drug because I was always happy and smiling. Recently I was able to share a little of my faith with a different co-worker. Although I do not enjoy my job very much I must remember that while I am there I need to keep a positive attitude. I may not like it very much but I am there because God wants me to be so it is important that I use my time there to be a light to those around me.

Soccer Fever

Soccer is by far my favorite sport. I love to watch it and play it, although I would much rather play it than watch it. I started by playing it in gym class and then when I was in fifth grade I had the opportunity to play on an indoor soccer team that was at my school in the spring. I really enjoyed doing this so I continued to play on the indoor team until I graduated. I started to play on the outdoor team in ninth grade because I liked it so much. I have continued to play soccer to this day. This was my third season playing for college and I also play on the indoor intermurral team that the college has in the spring semester. I am pretty sure that I will continue to play soccer for as long as I can.

Snowdays . . . or the lack there of

This morning I woke up and hear all of the school closings on the radio. My first thought was "I wish that we had snow days in college". As my morning went on I thought that when you have a full time job you will not be getting snow days either. Then I remembered that I'm studying to be an elementary teacher so I will be able to have snow days when I have my full time job. This made me a little happier that I can still look forward to having snow days again in a couple of years. For now I will just have to press on and get through my final two and a half years in college.

lack of sleep

My posts will generally be very random, they will be whatever I am thinking about hence the title of the blog :)

Some nights I don't get any sleep, this usually has one of two effects. First I could be so extremely tired that I fall asleep in class which is not good when I have class. The other is I will be so over tired that I will laugh at anything, this makes for a very interesting day. I am currently undergoing the second. Usually if I don't get sleep it is because I'm up doing homework, but this time I just couldn't fall asleep. So I just stayed up all night until I needed to get ready to go to class. The cold weather has helped keep me awake thankfully, because the two cups of coffee didn't help one bit. I'm not a big fan of the cold weather, I'd much rather be warm than freezing cold. Being warm would not be good on a day when I'm tired though because it would make me very sleepy and I wouldn't be able to help falling asleep. I have survived the day on zero sleep and tonight I will be able to get sleep and be rested. The End.
